NOTES:
Nantucket, is a freeport trading station, a one-mile diameter, that was established in Sector 900 by Edgar Industries in late 2256. On the edge of a new territory, recently opened up by the EAS Cortez, this trading station is a hub of commerce and activity for mega-corporations, colonists, prospectors, businessmen, rogues, scoundrels, and pirates alike, all looking to strike it rich in this virgin territory and stake a claim before anyone else gets here. Because Sector 900 is considered an open territory, many aliens filter through Nantucket as well, Narn, Centauri, and several League worlds attempting to secure new trade routs and make first contact with alien races. Although its only been open a year, Nantucket has become renowned for being the "Dodge City" of space and, while EarthForce does patrol the immediate area to keep Human trade lanes safe of any major pirate activity, a hornet's nest of trouble awaits any civilian transport within as little a single jump of the space station.

NOTES:
Montauk is the fifth planet in a solar system on the edge of Earth Alliance space. While it is part of the Earth Alliance, it is considered a "territory" not a colony and persons living there have no official colonial status. Settlements were established on Montauk in 2207, the largest being the mining town of
Ludlow, but it is a purely commercial venture that is owned and operated by the Earth Mega-Corp Rockefeller Fuels & Mining. The planet has a deep-range re-fueling station in orbit, that has no artificial gravity, just fuel, oxygen, supplies, and a place to dock your ship. Fuel and supplies aren't cheap here, but when you're desperate for fuel beggars can't be choosers. There is next to no criminal elements to be found in this area, due to the fact that Rockefeller F&M has hired the Pinkerton Detective Agency, (a private security firm with its own army), to run security. It is ill advised for independent shippers to make trouble in Montauk, for fear of Pinkerton justice. In recent years the EarthForce military have also established some sort of presence on the planet but few details are known.

NOTES:
Vineyard orbits the G Type star CD-39 4247 in the Constellation Puppis,
93.8
light-years from Earth. This is a fairly new settlement and features a Start-Up colony on the third planet which has been named "Vineyard". A lush tropical planet with purple oceans fortunate enough to orbit a star almost identical to Sol, Vineyard has a large marine animal population and a healthy land based animal population and plant life. Roughly 92% of the planet is oceans and the majority of the planet's land mass exists as islands and two small continents near the planet's equator. Every year violent hurricanes averaging winds of 150 knots, ravage the coastlines. Further dangers hail from the ocean where reports indicate the presence of a shark-like creature 50 meters long and estimated to weigh 280 tonnes. Because Vineyard is a settlement it has not received Colony status from the Earth Alliance. While there is opportunity here for new settlers who are working to establish a colony, it will be years before Vineyard is recognized by the Earth Alliance Senate. In the meanwhile they are desperate for supplies, venture capital, and people to boost the existing population of 5,000.

NOTES:
Born out of the Earth/Minbari War, Babylon 5 was the Galaxy's last, best hope for peace. Built as a place where humans and aliens could work out their problems peacefully, the five-mile long space station is a hub for commerce and intrigue. Representatives from almost every word and major political power in the known galaxy, including the Earth Alliance, Minbari Federation, Narn Regime, Centauri Republic, the Vorlon Empire and the independent alien powers known collectively as the League of Non-Aligned Worlds, all have offices aboard station. Babylon 5 is a focal point for where empires rise and fall and, one thing is clear... no one here is exactly what they appear.

NOTES:
One of the youngest powers in the cosmos, Earth first gained jump technology after being contacted by the Centauri Republic in the mid 22nd century. Since then, Earth has become a major power in the universe. When Earth defeated the evil Dilgar Empire they became heroes, but humanity was almost wiped out after a bloody war with the Minbari Federation a decade later. Plagued by upheaval following the Earth/Minbari War, Earth Alliance nearly self-destructed when William Morgan Clark assassinated Earth President Santiago and set himself up as dictator of the planet with the help of the Shadows and Psi-Corp. John Sheridan lead a coalition and drove Clark and his forces from power, and returned liberty and democracy to the Earth Alliance.

NOTES:
The second of Earth's colonies, Mars has been a major point of contention for nearly two-hundred years. Terrorism lead to the destruction of the first Mars colony and the second has been racked with political strife ever since Martian nationals began campaigning for autonomy from Earth control. Relations between Mars and Earth became even more strained when Mars declared neutrality during the Earth/Minbari War. After the war food riots on Mars lead to a soar point with Earthforce military and Psi-Corps used the incident to annex territory for their own headquarters isolated from mundane controls. Eventually Mars won its independence and gained the same status in the Earth Alliance as the nation states of Earth.

NOTES:
Located beyond the Orion arm of the Milky Way Galaxy, the planet Minbar stands as both the seat of power for the Minbari Federation, as well as the headquarters for the Interstellar Alliance and the base of operations for the Rangers and the Whitestar fleet. Seventh planet from their sun, the planet Minbar is colder than Earth with their northern polar ice cap covering one fourth of the planet. Rich in mineral deposits, many of the Minbari's oldest cities are carved directing into the crystal landscape. Lead by the Gray Council, who operate from a Minbari War-Cruiser in orbit of the planet, Minbari culture is rich with tradition.

NOTES:
Once the largest and most powerful empires in this part of the Galaxy, the Centauri Republic was falling into decay when they chanced upon humanity and sold mankind the technology that opened up the stars to the children of Earth. Following this the Centauri tried desperately to attack their destiny to humanities rising star but weak leadership and continued conflict with their former slaves, the Narn, the Centauri Republic continued to slip into despair and this ultimately lead them to join with the Shadows during the Great War. Following their victory over the Narn and the battle against the Shadows, the Centauri Republic has become a founding member of the new Interstellar Alliance, but dark forces have turned their eye to the Centauri and their Republic is destined for smoke and ash.
