The Valenn class Heavy
Cruiser was the first starship built in cooperation between the
Minbari Federation and the Earth Alliance*
who, together, designed and constructed the Valenn in the hopes
of making this class vessel the new flagship of the Interstellar
Alliance. Often referred to as an ugly flying brick,
the Valenn was an interesting coble work of Earth/Minbari technology.
The 1,300 meter* long hulk was
a lumbering giant with little in the way of maneuverability, but
she did boast the most advanced Ion propulsion system ever developed
and that system, when hybridized with a Minbari Gravimetric drive,
made the Valenn the fastest ship in the Alliance.*
Unfortunately, the Valenn's lifetime was short lived as the prototype
was destroyed by terrorists working with an advanced alien race
known as "The Hand", a race belonging to the First Ones
who'd been banished from our reality eons ago.*
Given the unpopularity of the Valenn's appearance and performance,
the design was abandoned as work on the Victory
class Destroyer progressed rapidly.*
